Get well flowers are doing something simple and useful: telling someone stuck at home or in a hospital bed that people are thinking about them today. Bright, cheerful and not too big is usually the right answer, and everything here is designed by hand in our Rancho Peñasquitos shop.
If the flowers are going to a hospital, read the first question below before you order, because a few wards have rules. If you would rather send something that survives the trip home, our green plants and orchids are the practical choice, and balloons travel well when flowers are not allowed.

Since 1974, our family owned, full-service flower shop has been helping San Diego get its sentiments across through flowers and plants, from the day to day occasions to the once in a lifetime ones. Four Seasons Flowers was started in September 1974 in Poway by Barbara Bertran, my mother, in a warehouse our family owned. Today we serve the greater San Diego area from our Rancho Peñasquitos shop in the Vons center.
Get well orders are usually placed by someone who feels a bit helpless, and getting one of those right is a good day’s work.
Yes, and we do it daily across San Diego. We need the patient’s full name as the hospital has it, the hospital name, and the room or unit if you have it. Two things worth knowing: intensive care and some oncology and transplant units do not allow fresh flowers at all, and patients get discharged sooner than anyone expects. If they may be going home in a day or two, send it to the house instead.
Then send something that does get through. Balloons, chocolates, a plush or a gift box are all fine on most wards where flowers are not, and a potted plant is often allowed where cut stems are not. Call 858.484.7700 and tell us the hospital and unit and we will steer you.
Bright and low fragrance. Gerbera daisies, sunflowers, alstroemeria, tulips and roses all read cheerful without filling a small room with scent. Heavily perfumed stems like oriental lilies are lovely in a house and a bad idea next to a hospital bed. Keep the arrangement compact, since bedside tables are small.

If the stay is a long one, send to the hospital. If it is a short stay or you are not sure, send to the house, where nothing gets lost in a ward move and where they will actually have somewhere to put it. Coming home to flowers already on the table is a good feeling.
