An anniversary belongs to exactly two people. Whether it is your first year or your fiftieth, everything on this page is designed by hand in our Rancho Peñasquitos shop, not pulled off a national warehouse shelf. We have been marking San Diego anniversaries since 1974.

Since 1974, our family owned, full-service flower shop has been helping San Diego get its sentiments across through flowers and plants, from the day to day occasions to the once in a lifetime ones. Four Seasons Flowers was started in September 1974 in Poway by Barbara Bertran, my mother, in a warehouse our family owned. Today we serve the greater San Diego area from our Rancho Peñasquitos shop in the Vons center.
Anniversaries sit right in the middle of what we do best. Having designed for thousands of customers and thousands of weddings, we know we can help you say it properly.
The traditional list pairs carnations with the 1st year, daisies with the 5th, daffodils with the 10th, roses with the 15th, irises with the 25th, lilies with the 30th, and yellow roses with the 50th. Treat it as a starting point, not a rule. If she has a flower she loves, that wins. Tell us the year and we will work the traditional bloom into a design built around what she actually likes.
Usually yes, on orders placed early enough in the day for our designers and drivers to get to them. Anniversaries are the occasion people most often remember late, so if you are ordering in the afternoon, call 858.484.7700 before you assume it is too late. We can often still make it happen, and if we truly cannot we will say so and get it there first thing the next morning.
A dozen red roses is the classic and it never reads wrong. Two dozen says you put thought into it, and a milestone year is worth going bigger still. On color, red is romantic love, pink reads as admiration and gratitude, peach and coral feel warmer and more modern, lavender suggests enchantment, and yellow means friendship and joy, which is why it is the traditional 50th anniversary flower.
We can, and it makes a great surprise, but call 858.484.7700 rather than booking it online. The restaurant needs to know flowers are coming, someone has to be there to receive them, and the timing has to line up with your reservation. We will coordinate it with the venue. Offices, hotels and hospitals are more straightforward and can be ordered online.
Yes. We offer 3 month, 6 month and yearly flower subscriptions, so an anniversary is covered along with whatever else you want to mark, and each delivery is a fresh seasonal design rather than the same bouquet on repeat. If you would rather we simply remembered the one date, call the shop and we will put a note on your account.
