Valentine’s Day is Near!
It has come! The day most men stress about, whether they don’t want to forget or not show their love for their significant other. The NFL has caused even more stress by moving the Super Bowl to the weekend before Valentines! These poor men!
Valentine’s Day is the day everyone associates with red roses and that is where we come into the picture. Not to mention roses normally do not grow in February which makes the supply vs demand a true issue. Roses, mainly red roses, are the #1 seller here in San Diego for Valentine delivery or pick up. will order about 5,000 roses for this Valentine’s Day along with countless other flowers to pair with roses. We do want to offer other flower options for Valentine’s in San Diego. Below are some suggestions from our staff!
Carma, our owner, would recommend ordering a mixture of flowers. She suggests for Valentines, the popular mixing of roses with Stargazer Rose Lilies or Cymbidium orchids. By doing this it elongates the life of the bouquet. Carma goes and hand picks the flowers every day of the week of Valentine’s Day to ensure their freshness. Orchids and Stargazer rose lilies last longer than roses so they extend the life of your bouquet. We will send home closed lilies so you will be able to watch them open! And orchids are naturally a beautiful long lasting addition to any bouquet.
Carma also suggests ordering early! She says many customers worry that by ordering their flowers early they will not be fresh. This is not the case! We wait to make your arrangement until the day before your delivery so they will be as fresh as possible. By ordering early, this ensures you receive the flowers you want! Also, if you want your bouquet delivered by a specific time frame, ordering early will make sure that happens! We cannot guarantee deliveries by specific times as we get closer to the day. There is a first come first right to delivery rule!
She would strongly suggest ordering our Sophistication Arrangement. Though we would have to substitute the Peonies for another flower as Peonies are not in season then… thanks Carma!
Danielle, Carma’s daughter, recommends ordering anything but red roses. As she has worked almost 20 Valentine’s holiday’s for her mother, she has seen countless people easily order red roses. To her, this takes less thought or effort on the givers part. She loves when our clients come in and order a different color or a specific flower. Or, even better, those who come and hand pick the flowers for their significant others. She would recommend something like our Tuscany Arrangement. It is not a traditional Valentine’s Day arrangement, it will be great for the person who claims they don’t like roses or to change up the Valentine’s Day colors!
Her last recommendation for something different would be to recreate her Bridal Bouquet into an arrangement. Ask for a custom bouquet and include a picture of her bridal bouquet for us to create from. Danielle believes this is a great touch that shows a lot of forethought and will get you extra brownie points. This does require you to to order early, 7-10 days in advance, so we can order your specific flowers and have time to design it!
Linda, our owner’s sister, highly recommends our Dinner for Two. She loves the romantic feel and the softness of the arrangement. Plus it is a centerpiece for a romantic dinner you could prepare for your “special someone”. It is a medium size arrangement so it does make a statement!
The leading sales lady herself, Janine, is all in on Love ‘N Bloom. It has orchids and roses, creating a very impressive look. This arrangement will impress anyone and make a huge statement of your love. This stunning arrangement also can come in multiple different color combinations.
Our wedding specialist, LeeAnne, highly recommends Embraceable You and Floral Chanson. When asked which one to pick, she couldn’t decide! Embraceable You is a high style design and in a cool vase. Floral Chanson has a similar style and flowers to make an impact. Both gorgeous and include roses, so one could still give the red rose but not as the focal flower.
Lastly, Christy, our Operations Manager, recommends the Magnificent Rose Lily. Now this is a stunning, stunning arrangement of Rose Lilies and Roses. It will without a doubt shock anyone who sees it. This will definitely give you brownie points!
