A Family Story at Four Seasons Flowers: Elena’s Handcrafted Mosaics

At Four Seasons Flowers, family has always been at the heart of what we do. From the very beginning, our story has been shaped by love, creativity, and the hands of those closest to us. And now, we are delighted to share another beautiful layer of that story with you.
Many of our longtime customers may remember Elena, the older sister of Carma, our owner. Elena was there in 1974 when she and Barbara first opened the doors of Four Seasons Flowers, pouring her creativity and energy into making the shop a place where artistry and nature could flourish together. With her exceptional talent, she became a certified member of the American Institute of Floral Designers (AIFD)—a mark of excellence in the floral industry.
Today, Elena’s artistry has taken on a new form. Living with Parkinson’s disease, she has found joy and peace in handcrafting mosaics—each one made with materials she lovingly gathers during walks on the beach. One of her favorite treasures to work with is sea glass, often discovered while combing the shoreline with her granddaughters and grand-nephews. Every piece she creates carries with it a story of family, memory, and nature’s beauty transformed.
We are honored to showcase Elena’s mosaics here in the shop. Just as her floral designs once brightened so many weddings, homes, and celebrations, her mosaics now offer a new way to bring art, color, and meaning into your life. They are a reflection not only of Elena’s creativity but also of the enduring spirit of Four Seasons Flowers as a true family business.
When you purchase one of Elena’s mosaics, you’re not just bringing home a unique piece of art—you’re supporting a legacy of family, artistry, and resilience that has been woven into Four Seasons Flowers since the very beginning.
