Adventure Awaits-A Disney Up Inspired Wedding

Last year when we met Tiffany at a bridal show she was struggling to find a florist that had the knowledge and experience to create her dream wedding. Her idea? A Disney Up theme wedding. We were so excited to join Tiffany and Cree on their Up Adventure! Tiffany thought of every detail. When the day came it was the perfect combination of Disney’s Up and her favorite color yellow, with a traditional Chinese wedding tea ceremony thrown in, all taking place at the beautiful Paradise Falls (where else?).

Tiffany’s bouquet was yellow tones with touches of cream and greens. Made up of yellow garden roses, yellow billy balls, yellow button chomomile, creamy yellow spray roses, white ranunculas, and light yellow stock, it was a free form hand tide look. Notice the Up pin added for detail.

The ceremony took place at the waterfall. The aisle decor was simple, lanterns adorned with a garland of yellow flowers and greenery were hung from shepard hooks.

The Bridesmaids wore buttery yellow dresses. Their bouquets were hand tied with yellow billy balls and creamy yellow Eden spray roses and white montecasino asters with touches of greenery.

The cocktail hour and reception were the perfect combination of whimsy and elegance.

For the cocktail hour billy balls were artistically placed in vases and soda bottles to on belly bars, tying into the Up balloon theme.

There were three different looks for the reception.

The first look was a wooden lantern sitting on top of a wood slab. A garland of yellow flowers and greenery surrounded the lantern. A halo of yellow flowers topped the lantern.

The second look was a pedestal centerpiece of white hydrangea, yellow billy balls, yellow roses, yellow stock, and white chamomile and greenery.

The third look was a garland of balloons with greenery tucked in.

The Sweetheart Table was decorated with two teacups, customized by the bride, that each held a smaller version of the centerpiece. Behind the sweetheart table sat a balloon wall that matched the balloon garland on some of the tables.

Additional details included a welcome table with a balloon wall, the guest book, and wish jar…all Up themed of course…down to Carl and Ellie’s mailbox. The Up theme photo booth was so much fun!!

The Cake Table decor was simple, as to not take attention away from the cake….we still can’t get over the cake!!!

The sweetest part of the day was the Traditional Tea Ceremony

Funeral and Sympathy Flowers

Having flowers at a funeral is a long standing tradition. Today flowers are sent to a funeral as a way to visually express love, respect, and the pain of mourning for the deceased. They are also sent to show support of those grieving. Flowers bring warmth and beauty to a service.

There are many types of arrangements that can be sent to a funeral. You can choose from vase arrangements, standing sprays, and maches.

The more personal flowers are usually sent by family members and those closer to the deceased. These could be a casket piece or urn wreath.

Whether a wreath, spray, or vase arrangement there are many styles and flowers to choose from. They can be traditional all whites or bright and vibrant to represent the deceased’s personality. They are often traditional to the deceased’s culture as well.

Sympathy flowers can be sent to the home of the family of the deceased instead of being sent to the service. These flowers should have less of a funeral look and feel. Usually a vase arrangement, these are meant to show support of those who have suffered the loss.

An other option is to send a plant or memorial garden. These living memorials are a touching gift of hope and renewal during a difficult time. These can be sent to the service or to the home of a loved one.

Four Seasons Flowers carries a variety of beautiful and tasteful sympathy flower arrangements, plants, and memorial gardens all available for delivery to funeral homes, churches, or the house of a grieving loved one. We offer sympathy flower delivery throughout San Diego with fresh, beautiful flowers.

Holiday Design Classes, December 2019

There’s something about the holidays that bring out the DIY-er in everyone. Some people are natural Do-It-Yourselfers, then there’s the rest of us… We try, we see great ideas on a certain website and get inspired. We go to the local craft store and spend hours getting everything on our list and “Oh yeah… I need this box of 150′ of garland, these 15 spools of ribbon, and water colors and blank cards because I’m going to hand paint every one’s cards this year!!” Hundreds of dollars later, we’re exhausted and sitting down to a holiday movie with a glass of wine sound like a way better idea at the moment. We’ll get to crafting tomorrow. Tomorrow we pull everything out and realize “Oh no!!! I forgot a hot glue gun!!!”. Back to the craft store… Two hours and $150 later we’re back at home ready to DIY, Baby!!!

We’re cutting. We’re gluing. We’re making something that doesn’t look anything like the picture we saw. “How did they get this to do that?!”. “It looked so much easier on the video…”

Ready for a better idea? Grab a few friends or family members and head out to breakfast on a Saturday morning. After breakfast go to an hour long floral design class. At the class you’ll learn how to design a wreath or holiday centerpiece. An actual floral designer will be teaching the class. She will be able to guide you, inspire you, encourage you, and answer your questions. There’s no stress. There’s no spending extra money on items you’ll never use and will just donate later. There’s no clean up. You just show up!!! The best part? You can still say “I made that!” to your friends and family when they are admiring your handy work.

Four Seasons flowers just had a wonderful Fall Center Piece class. It was made with a combination of dried flowers and fresh cut flowers. Gold painted succulents and white miniature pumpkins really gave it that fall look.

Four Seasons Flowers is offering a holiday wreath class and a holiday center piece class. Both will be a great chance to make a beautiful decorative element for your holiday decor.

Mental Health and Flowers

There has been an abundance of talk about the importance of mental health lately, as there should be. We watch what we eat. We work out. We park further away from the store to get extra steps in. We eat organic foods. We cut back on carbs. We drink more water. We get more sleep…well, we mean to… We do all of these things to lead healthier lives. What we need to realize is our mental health is just as important as our physical health, if not more. Meditation, travel, actually relaxing on your day off, all of these help your mental health. They give your brain a chance to recharge. Getting the care and support you need is so important as well. Never hesitate to find counseling for your mental health.

You can start working on your mental health at home. Clear out any clutter. Paint your walls in calm, soothing colors. Create a space where you can have down time to unplug and unwind. Bring in plants to freshen the air. Plants clear toxins from the air and create oxygen…we all learned that in middle school science right?

It is also proven that fresh flowers bring health and happiness to our lives. Bringing flower arrangements into your home or giving them to others can reduce depression and anxiety. They can enhance memory and give a room a positive feeling, making patients heal faster physically as well as mentally.

It’s amazing what bringing a bit of nature into your home, whether it be a plant or a bouquet of flowers can do. Four Seasons Flowers has a wonderful selection of flower arrangements and plants to brighten up your space. Contact us to order an arrangement, plant, or dish garden at 1-858-484-7700 , on our site www.mysandiegoflowers.com , or come in to our beautiful shop.

You can take one of our offered Fall or Holiday classes and learn how to create an arrangement of your own. We also do private classes, then you can share the fun and health benefits with your friends and family!
